Grille (Grilles)Wood, plastic or metal dividers, (grilles, grids, bars) designed for a single light sash or panel to give the appearance of muntins in as multi-light sash or panel. These can be removable or fixed. Also called Muntins.
Grilles-Between-The-Glass (GBG)
Grilles are permanently installed between the panes of the insulating glass.
Garden window
Designed much like a bay or bow window, a garden also extends from the
wall to the exterior of the home. It is built in a square or rectangular shape
at right angles. The two side lights often operate for added ventilation.
Gas Fill
A gas other than air, usually argon or krypton, placed between window or
skylight glazing panes to reduce the U-factor by suppressing conduction and
convection.
Glazing Bead
A molding or stop around the inside of a window frame to hold the glass
in place.
Grids
Optional horizontal or vertical lineals installed between the glass panes
help to create the appearance of a divided window design.
Geometric Window
Specialty windows of various shapes including: rectangles, triangles,
trapezoids, octagons, pentagons, half-rounds, quarter-rounds, full rounds,
sectors and ellipses.
Glass Stop
The trim that covers the edge of the glass.
Grain
An arrangement and direction of wood elements or fibers; can be straight
or spiral grain; also used loosely to indicate texture.
Guide Bar Operator
A window-opening mechanism that has a track along the interior bottom
rail of an awning sash. It allows the operating arms to slide as the window
opens and closes.
