Vent Panel
The panel that moves horizontally on any window or door.
Visible Light
The portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that produces light
that can be seen. Wavelengths range from 380 to 720 nanometers.
Veneer
A thin sheet or layer of wood, usually rotary-cut, sliced or sawn from a
log, bolt or flitch.
Veneered Construction
A stile or rail consisting of a core, two edge strips and two face
veneers bonded together under pressure with adhesives.
Ventilating Door
A door that is made with a wood panel at the bottom half and a screen for
ventilation at the top half. Also called a combination door.
Vertical Lite (also
Light)
A lite or cutout formed by a vertical bar extending from rail to rail of
a sash or door.
Visible Transmittance (VT)
Visible transmittance (VT) describes how much available light comes
through a window, and is expressed as a percentage. The higher the VT, the more
daylight a product lets in. A good VT is about 55%.
